KRAIG BIOCRAFT LABORATORIES FILES FOR PATENT PROTECTION OF DRAGON SILK

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories expands intellectual property protection of its transgenic silkworms and recombinant spider silk technology

LANSING, Mich., – August 19, 2015 – Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: KBLB) (“Company”), the leading developer of advanced spider silk based fibers, announced that it, with the University of Notre Dame, filed two additional patents to strengthen its intellectual property protection surrounding its transgenic silkworms and spider silk technologies.

These patent applications are designed to protect the creation of the Kraig Labs transgenic silkworms and the resultant chimeric spider silk.  The Company currently has open patent actions in 10 countries, including key silk producer and consumer nations.

“From our inception, Kraig Labs has remained dedicated to a spirit of innovation and refused to accept can’t as an answer,” said Company Founder and CEO, Kim Thompson.  “This pursuit of the seemingly impossible led to a series of first of its kind inventions, including our recently announced Dragon Silk™ genetic line.  The filling of these two additional patents seeks to protect the creativity and value of that work for Kraig Labs and our shareholders, and goes hand in hand with our commercial market development plans.”

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Issues Letter to Shareholders

Dear Shareholders,

In the coming month we will be moving our corporate office, from our location for the last nine years, at 120N Washington Sq., Lansing, Michigan, as the building is being repurposed.   We are taking this opportunity to find a location that better matches our growth plans for Kraig Labs.

Over and above notifying you of our pending move, we would also like to take a moment to provide some additional information on the status of our research and material development efforts.

Big Red

Big Red continues as one of our primary recombinant spider silk gene lines.  Similar to our recently announced Dragon SilkTM line, Big Red is specifically designed to have a tensile strength significantly higher than conventional silk.  Designed specifically for increased strength with lower elasticity, the Big Red silk line we’ve created remains the ideal material for applications where excessive elasticity would decrease overall performance.   As we expand our research and rearing operation we expect that Big Red will be a significant element of that effort.

Laboratory lease

In 2011, we began renting additional laboratory space, at the Innovation Park in South Bend, Indiana.  This space was initially intended to provide a secondary location and overflow capacity for the work conducted in the laboratory at Notre Dame, our research center.  The decision to end the long running lease for this second lab was made after review and determining that we could expand our core research by focusing more of our attention into the Notre Dame lab.  By redirecting those resources we are increasing the number of microinjection and incorporate additional gene splicing technologies to further advance our market leading recombinant silk technology.  The increased scope and funding level for our collaborative research project signed in March, of this year, points to that refocus.  This initiative helped to promote our research efforts in developing new plasmids, new rounds of microinjections, and incorporating new gene splicing techniques.

Warwick Mill

Through our partnership with Warwick Mills we continue to make progress in developing new woven and knitted materials using our recombinant fiber technologies.  Over the last several months we have engaged with Warwick Mill on an initiative to produce a new material, we believe we will be able to announce the exciting details of that project in the fourth quarter of this year.  Warwick Mills remains an important element of our transition from a technology development company into a product delivery company.

We are proud of the technical team’s developments and partners’ progress.  We are excited about our results in the lab and pleased with how our business model is evolving.

KRAIG BIOCRAFT LABORATORIES CREATES FIBER THAT IS STRONGER THAN SPIDER SILK

Laboratory breakthrough results in Kraig Biocraft Laboratories’ strongest and most flexible recombinant spider silk technology.

LANSING, Mich., – June 29, 2015 – Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: KBLB) (“Company”), the leading developer of advanced spider silk based fibers, announced the creation of Dragon SilkTM, its strongest and most flexible recombinant spider silk technology.

Dragon SilkTM represents a leap in the Company’s recombinant spider silk technology, combining both the elasticity and strength elements of native spider silk.  A small number of Dragon SilkTM samples have demonstrated tensile strength as high as 1.79 gigapascals, exceeding widely reported spider silk strength (by as much as 37%, depending on source literature).  Several samples of Dragon SilkTM also demonstrated elasticity above 38%, exceeding native dragline spider silk.  This new material has shown it can be more flexible than Monster Silk® and stronger than Big Red, the Company’s leading recombinant spider silk products. The Company is now working to standardize the performance level across the entire Dragon SilkTM genetic line.

“Dragon SilkTM is our strongest and most flexible recombinant spider silk material to date,” said Company Founder and CEO Kim Thompson.  “We have never believed that native spider silk is the limit of strength and flexibility performance.  A few superstar individuals, within the genetically engineered colony we call Dragon SilkTM, have demonstrated that extremely high level of performance in the laboratory.  We are now working to obtain that standard throughout the Dragon SilkTM line.  Even as we undertake that work, our research team is working in parallel to create even more powerful transgenics. Dragon SilkTM represents yet another material science breakthrough and shifts the standard of performance expectation for spider silk technologies.”

KRAIG BIOCRAFT LABORATORIES ANNOUNCES SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OF VIETNAM

Successful series of meetings with central and regional governments in Vietnam culminate in MOU and lay foundation for transgenic research and production.

LANSING, Mich., – June 15, 2015 – Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: KBLB) (“Company”), the leading developer of spider silk based fibers, announces that after a series of meetings with Vietnam’s central and regional governments, the Company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).  This MOU outlines a framework for the creation and rearing of transgenic silkworms in Vietnam.  Pursuant to the MOU, Kraig Labs and the Vietnamese provincial government will jointly develop a cooperative plan for the development and production of Kraig Labs trangenics in Vietnam.

“This MOU represents a breakthrough for Kraig Labs and potentially the silk industry.  The Central and Provincial Government officials in Vietnam with whom we have held extensive meetings share our passion and vision for reinvigorating the silk industry.  This new relationship should bring new opportunities for both the Company and Vietnam.  The goal is commercialization of our disruptive technology for the technical textile markets,” said Company CEO Kim Thompson.  “Vietnam offers specialized silk infrastructure which is ideal for expanding our operations.  Vietnam’s tradition of quality silk production makes it an excellent fit for our transgenic silkworms.  This cooperative effort will further serve to support our recombinant silk technology, its many applications and end markets.”

The Company is continuing to work with the provincial government to develop advanced research and development facilities in Vietnam, as well as pilot production of transgenic hybrids.  Negotiations for a final agreement incorporating the terms of the MOU are expected to conclude in the third quarter of 2015.

KRAIG BIOCRAFT LABORATORIES ISSUES LETTER TO SHAREHOLDERS

LANSING, Mich., – June 9, 2015 – Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: KBLB) (“Company”), the leading developer of advanced spider silk based fibers, has provided a business update to shareholders via e-mail.  The content of the e-mail message is as follows:

Dear Shareholders,

As the past several months have been very busy and productive, I would like to highlight several achievements that have advanced the Company’s short-term and long-term position.

First, let me begin by thanking all of you for your patience during the past eight months.  As you may be aware, on June 5, 2015, the SEC declared our registration statement with Calm Seas Capital effective.  This registration secures up to $7.5 million, assuming all conditions are met, over the next 2 years to support the continued growth of our research, development, and production capacity.   As a small fully reporting company, we take the quiet period during the registration process very serious, but understand that the silence can be frustrating for our shareholders. However, by ensuring full compliance with the quiet period, which is required by federal securities laws, the Company and our shareholders are more fully protected during the registration process.  As the registration statement is now effective, the quiet period is over and we can once again communicate more regularly with our shareholders and the investing public at large.

Second, we have signed a new cooperative research and development agreement with the University of Notre Dame, which has accelerated the pace of development of our transgenic silkworm technology.  The additional resources we have allocated are designed to allow us to develop new and more powerful transgenic silkworm strains using the latest in genetic engineering technologies.  We believe this will allow us to produce even stronger and more flexible fibers.  As early testing of these new materials has shown promising results, we look forward to releasing additional details as they become available.

Furthermore, our pilot scale production facility recently delivered a batch of finished material and continues to produce Monster SilkTM for use and evaluation.  These materials are a key element in fiber technology and performance evaluation for our potential market channel partners.  Of equal importance, this facility provides validation that the transition from laboratory scale to production can be completed for Big Red and future transgenic lines that we produce.  We anticipate significant growth in the capacity and proficiency of our silk production operations moving forward.

I am excited to announce the new Kraig’s quarterly newsletter- Spider Sense- which we will release at the end of each fiscal quarter beginning in July, 2015.  This newsletter will allow us to consistently share the Company’s progress with you.  The newsletter will be distributed via the Company website and opt-in emails.  Please sign up at https://www.kraiglabs.com/contact/ .

Our management remains focused on the Company’s underlying business as well as identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities to increase shareholder value.  The Company has been very impressed with the performance of our new COO, Jon Rice, who has been a powerful addition to our team and we expect great things from him in the second half of 2015.  We anticipate releasing further news regarding our business in the very near future.

In conclusion, my expectation for 2015 will be new opportunities that will serve to benefit all who are connected to the success of Kraig Biocraft Laboratories. We appreciate the commitment you, our shareholders, have made and continue to make supporting the Company.  On behalf of the entire Kraig Labs Team, thank you for sharing in our success and being a partner in our future.

Sincerely,

Kim K. Thompson
Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board
